The genome remains a stable, efficient blueprint for biological life, while the brain becomes the canvas on which experience is painted anew with every individual.

This division of labor is not a limitation—it is a profound innovation. It allows humans to be flexible, diverse, and adaptive across countless environments, without waiting for slow genetic changes. It also makes every individual unique, with learning shaped by context, community, and choice.
